Smooth space
- Openness & continuity — acentered, infinite, unlimited in every direction; no fixed top or bottom.
- Intensity & haptics — occupied by intensities, forces, and events rather than measurable metrics; close, tactile perception.
- Nomadic logic — associated with the war machine and nomads who distribute themselves in open space (desert, sea, steppe) through continuous variation and vectorial lines rather than fixed points.
- Free action — free action, play, and becoming over fixed work or progress.
Striated space
- Grids & metrics — centered, delimited, organized by grids, lines, and points; a homogeneous, measurable environment.
- Optics & forms — occupied by forms that organize matter; distant, visual perception and Euclidean geometry.
- Sedentary logic — associated with the State apparatus, agriculture, and cities; space allocated through fixed intervals and distinct boundaries.
- Work & progress — work, measurement, and static progress; anxiety to impose constancy on flowing forces.
Mixture, not binary
The two spaces are not simple opposites. They exist in constant mixture: smooth space is continually being striated, while striated space is continually being smoothed or reversed. They are regimes of occupation of the same space — not empty structure versus false measure.
Political caveat
Never believe that a smooth space will suffice to save us.

Smooth space is not inherently liberatory. Striated space is necessary for translation and organization. Both remain subject to political and territorial struggle. The project holds this caveat as primary orientation, not an afterthought.
Grant extensions (held, unlocked)
Heat-map strata as arguments; Möbius traversal and holonomy; TFS knowledge base as shared context with Syntax · Semantics · Interface and Math. These lanes are adjacent. They are not locked as a Bridge or joint field.
Speculation flagged. Any mapping from smooth/striated pedagogy into Topological Formal Semantics (holonomy, twist parity, sheaf cohomology, etc.) waits on Grant deep-brief and CoS / Grant approval before being treated as settled project machinery.
